Natural Aftershave Essential Oil Recipe

After learning more about some of the harmful ingredients in our family’s personal care products, it became necessary to do a ditch and switch. It didn’t make sense to use harsh chemical aftershaves. My goal was to replace the artificial fragrances and questionable ingredients that my husband and son were slathering on their faces after shaving. So I came up with a Natural Aftershave Recipe to soothe and refresh their freshly shaved skin.

Natural Aftershave Essential Oil Recipe from RecipeswithEssentialOils.com

When I was growing up my dad used the most famous aftershave of all time. You know…the one with the classic ship on the front and that distinctive smell. I thought it was quite manly and what every “real” guy should smell like. Now I’m not so sure.

Natural Aftershave Essential Oil Recipe from RecipeswithEssentialOils.com

The ingredients in our Natural Aftershave Recipe leave skin smoother, tighter, healthier, and might I say, smelling very manly…

Witch Hazel

It’s a natural astringent that tightens the pores and leaves skin clean.

Almond Oil

This is one of our favorite carrier oils. It’s moisturizing and deeply nourishes the skin.

Vegetable Glycerin

A little goes a long way! Vegetable glycerine helps blend the ingredients, gives the mixture a little body, and attracts moisture from the air to enhance the appearance of your skin.

Vitamin E Oil

Vitamin E is a naturally occurring antioxidant that protects the skin against damage. It’s great for fine lines and blemishes.

Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood Essential Oil

This sweet and warm essential oil helps beautify the skin while providing a deeply peaceful aroma.

Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense essential oil is derived from a prized resin whose scent is rich and luxurious. It helps smooth the appearance of healthy skin.

What other carrier oil(s) would you suggest in place of the almond? We can’t use it due to allergies. Thank you.

All the aftershave goodness with none of the skin-drying alcohol. I’ll definitely have to give this a try!

Some other essential oils I love for men’s skin are Helichrysum, Cypress, Elemi, and Patchouli.
