If you like clean, fresh breath from a simple recipe then you’ve got to try our Homemade Peppermint Mouthwash recipe. This mouthwash includes the freshening and whitening power of baking soda. It gently swishes around to leave your mouth extra clean and deodorized.
When I was growing up my parents convinced me that mouthwash had to burn the top 2 layers of skin off of your mouth if it was working. If it didn’t make you gasp for life, then it wasn’t worth it. I’m not sure why we had to endure such torture, but I’m glad I made it to the other side to see the light that is natural mouthwash.
All the things to love about this Homemade Peppermint Mouthwash:
- Baking soda whitens your teeth
- No burning
- Clean rinsing effect
- No alcohol
- Delicious, natural flavor
- No artificial flavors or colors
- No artificial sweeteners
- Lasting breath freshness

I recently talked with my dentist about how I can improve my oral hygiene and he suggested that I start using mouthwash more regularly. However, I prefer to use a mouthwash that doesn’t have alcohol in it and so I am very pleased that I have been able to come across this homemade recipe. I especially look forward to trying the Spicy Orange blend, because cinnamon oil is supposed to be very beneficial for you. Other than cleaning your teeth, what are some of the other health benefits of using essential oils as a mouthwash?
Beth K says
Thanks for the note, Faylinn. We encourage everyone to read up on the naturally occurring constituents of each essential oil and research in published studies to find out all the benefits. I love the Spicy Orange variation, too, because in addition to the Cinnamon Bark we add in Clove Vitality which promotes a healthy immune response and may support overall wellness.
