As always, I like to begin with my favorite recipe. The first time I smelled this combination was in the depths of winter when I was working on a different post. I immediately knew that I had to document this recipe because it will bring joy to so many…

Here’s why I love this combination: It smells EXACTLY like Key Lime Pie. No, I’m not joking. And since Key Lime Pie is my favorite warm-weather dessert I knew this would quickly become one of my g0-to combinations for a bright and cheerful scent. It must be a great combination of oils because just last month Young Living blogged about the same two oils and called the combo Hawaiian Sunrise!
- 4 drops Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood Essential Oil
- 4 drops Lime Essential Oil
Relaxing, refocusing, and resetting. This spring essential oil diffuser blend is all about wiping away winter and stepping into spring with a fresh, sunshine-y outlook. I love the way that the Lemon scent is cheery while the vanilla goodness of Stress Away is mellowing and relaxing.
- 5 drops Lemon Essential Oil
- 3 drops Stress Away Essential Oil
Now we’re going to look at my favorite floral and citrus combo. Wow! Ylang Ylang is a superb oil for giving a floral scent without smelling like your grandmother. (You know what I’m talking about!) Ylang Ylang is quite sweet, romantic, and exotic.
The Citrus Fresh layers on top of the floral scent to lighten the overall feel of the recipe. Citrus Fresh is bright and crisp and full of energetic zip!
- 3 drop Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
- 5 drops Citrus Fresh Essential Oil
Floral and herbal is one of my favorite combinations. The clean and crisp smell of this recipe reminds me of the new life that spring promises. Embrace the full beauty of spring with this amazing diffuser blend.

This is tropical goodness. Sweet, citrusy Tangerine is a great top layer to this scent. Cardamom is an exotic spice that adds a depth of sweetness to the blend. The Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood is soft, subtle, sweet, and woodsy without being overpowering. It blends this recipe together perfectly.
- 2 drops Cardamom Essential Oil
- 2 drops Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood Essential Oil
- 4 drops Tangerine Essential Oil
As I’ve mentioned before, Black Pepper is one essential oil that I was so surprised to fall in love with. It doesn’t smell like you think it will. This recipe is deliciously energizing and full of life. It will truly wipe away the winter.
- 3 drops Lemongrass Essential Oil
- 2 drops Black Pepper Essential Oil
*Jasmine is an absolute or essence, rather than an essential oil.

I have cats and dogs. How safe is these oils when diffusing them for their sensitivity. I want a clean fresh healthier environment for all of us. Can you help me by sharing your wisdom for my family members too? What oils be best to diffuse springtime fresh with no harm to them?

Hi Carole! We have been using oils safely near our pets for years. We can only speak from personal experience since we are not veterinarians. We have no hesitation diffusing any oils around our pets.
